After shopping, I wanted a cup of coffee. While walking on Ocean Avenue, we passed by a delightful window display of bakers' confections with an inviting waft of coffee permeating through its doorway. We couldn't resist entering Carmel Bakery.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient by keeping the line moving. The Carmel Bakery offers a large variety of baked goods, ice cream, and beverages. We purchased a gingerbread man and a few other treats, along with a fresh brewed latte.

There are only a few tables inside this small shop, but most people were ordering to go. We could taste the freshness of Carmel Bakery's high-quality offerings.

Good local old fashion bakery located in the heart of Carmel. In a peak hour you would have to stay in line for 10-20 minutes to get your order.

We bought ice cream, almond pretzel and americano and were perfectly satisfied will all of the items.

Baristas are working hard to satisfy never ending customer flow. Kudos!

Croissant was delish, as was the chocolate cupcake and dipped coconut macaroon. Mocha latte rounded out this yummy stop.

Jeez. Even if you don't have a sweet tooth I recommend trying out a pastry w/ a warm coffee drink from here. (Whoever your pastry chef is please give them a high five!!) Spent a few days in Carmel and ended up snagging a few different parties each day cause ... they're that fresh and well made. Mind you, we don't have a sweet tooth. Cheers!

$ 4/5 - Carmel Bakery is a must for me if I'm anywhere near Carmel-by-the-Sea. My family is Danish so I get excited when any bakery makes anything resembling a Danish baked good. Carmel Bakery makes amazing Almond Horns. It's a "U" shaped, almond flavored cookie, topped with almonds, with the ends dipped in chocolate. The Almond Horns at Carmel Bakery are super sized, chewy, moist, and so delicious. Another favorite are Danish Wedding cookies. A shortbread style cookie with crushed nuts inside coated in enough powdered sugar to make a delightful mess. They also had the largest Shortbread cookies I've ever seen in my life, like, almost the size of my face. I got a traditional Shortbread Cookie and a Chocolate Dipped Chocolate Chip Shortbread that had the perfect Shortbread texture. A bit of crunch, the perfect crumb, while still being moist. I highly suggest going for the Chocolate Dipped Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie! I think they used a semi sweet chocolate so it wasn't too sweet and didn't overpower the shortbread. So delicious! I also ordered an Asiago Shift Pretzel with a mustard dipping sauce. The pretzel was soft, fluffy, and had a dough that more closely resembled an oversized dinner roll than a pretzel dough. It was melt in your mouth, fluffy cloud dough Heaven! I'd also like to add that the service is always great here. It's not unusual to see a line out the door, but don't worry, it moves quickly! That staff is happy to direct you or answer any questions. I haven't ever had something I didn't like here, so don't be afraid to try something new!

3.5 - About $30 total - nothing tasted exceptional and probably wouldn't get anything again except for the pistachio cannoli. Wish I got there earlier in the day to eat it fresh! They don't skimp on the nuts

Loved everything we ordered. Kids enjoyed the cookies and ice cream. Service was fast though I think staff can be a bit friendlier.
Place is organized and clean.

Beautiful window display! Please make more cinnamon rolls so people later in the day can enjoy them!
